NEW CHOIR SEASON BEGINS: SEPTEMBER 4

Thursday, September 4 @ 6:30 p.m.
The choir is a wonderful place to get connected and serve our body in worship.  As warring worshipers, we will prepare the way for the presence of God in our services. Rehearsals are every Thursday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We will sing at both services on the THIRD Sunday morning of each month. BAPTISM CELEBRATION: AUGUST 31

GET READY TO RUN: SEPTEMBER 1

The annual Franklin Classic 5/10K run to support Mercy Children’s Clinic is coming up on Labor Day September 1. The day’s events also include a 4k walk and Children’s Fun Run. This is the largest single event that Mercy Children’s Clinic uses to harvest funds to meet its annual budget goals.  Please support our friends at Mercy. ATTENTION BOOK LOVERS

If you’re looking for a way that you can serve, and you love meeting new people, then the Resource Center is a perfect place to start. We are looking for a few volunteers to serve in the Resource Center one Sunday a month.  For more information contact Brendy Bond (530) 354-5310.

WEEKLY PRAYER POINTS

LOCAL: Recently the Tennessee State Legislature passed a bill, which the Governor signed into legislation in June, to combat human trafficking in our state, primarily targeting trafficking for the sex trade. Please pray that there would be effective enforcement of the law so that the many victims in our own city would be rescued and released.

GLOBAL: While recovering from a recent surgery, Sandra, our partner in Spain, was found to have cysts on her lungs. At this time there is no diagnosis, but there are some indications that they could be from a rare disease called LAM. If that were the case in the natural, the prognosis would not be good, but we know that God is our healer, and whether or not that is the diagnosis, His plans for Sandra are for a future and a hope and we need to contend for complete healing.

WEEKLY PRAYER POINTS:

LOCAL: This is the last week of Freedom School! Please pray that the students would maintain and increase the knowledge they have gained over the past 5 weeks, and for God to reveal Himself to these kids as they continue to grow in an understanding of the world that He has created. Ask God to strengthen the teachers to persevere and finish well.

GLOBAL: A new president, who is not supported by Nepal’s former Maoist rebels, has just been elected in Nepal. And now, the Maoists, which make up 1/3 of the government, are threatening to withdraw from the formation of the new Nepali government. This could cause political instability for Nepal. Ask God to stabilize the Nepali government so that the people of Nepal would experience peace and stability. Pray for peace and unity among the opposing parties within the Nepali government.

URBAN CAFÉ: GOING TO THE FIELDS!

Join Urban Café Friday, August 8, for a Nashville Sounds baseball game! Nashville Sounds vs. Omaha Royals 7:00 p.m. Jars of Clay will be performing a pre-game concert at 5:30 for “Purity Faith Night” along with a post-game fireworks show!

DANCE IS BACK: AUGUST 9

This new dance term, we’re kickin’ it off with with a one day boot camp on August 9 at the Cool Springs location. Kids meet from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. and youth and adults will meet from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  If you are new and just want to check it out, or if you’ve danced with us before we will see you then! All congregations are invited.

We’re believing that God will show up in big ways this year in dance as we contend for breakthrough in worship.

WELCOME TO OUR WORLD:

Congratulations to Randy and Jamie Waters on the birth of their son, Caleb Joseph Waters. Caleb was born on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 6:51 p.m. He weighed 8 lbs. 6.5 oz. and measured 20 inches. Mom, Dad and son are doing well and celebrating life.

Congratulations to Nate and Sarah Sallie on the birth of their son, Nathan Jackson Sallie. Jackson was born on Friday, July 18 at 10:25 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs. 8.5 oz. and measured 21 ½ inches. Mom, Dad and big sister, Morgyn are celebrating his arrival.

Weekly Prayer Points

LOCAL: Barefoot Republic, a youth camp that seeks to unite kids from all racial and economic backgrounds, begins Tuesday, July 8. Pray for a quick integration among the students. Ask the Lord to manifest His presence to those youth that don’t know Him, and to reveal His truth to those bound in lies. Pray that God’s kingdom reign would be established within the camp, and that He would strengthen all of the volunteers and counselors over the next two weeks.

GLOBAL: The tide of persecution against Christians is rising in Uzbekistan to levels unseen in recent history. The government is using media to incite hatred toward believers. And now, police are actually arresting evangelical leaders. Pray that believers in Uzbekistan will be bold in their witness and filled with joy. Ask God to glorify His name in this nation through His people, and that they would be comforted by His grace as they partake in Christ’s sufferings.

The Membership Seminar is the next step for those of you who feel that God is calling you to partner with the New Song church family. New Song Makeover- July 19

This all-day class is for all instrumentalists and worship leaders. Join us for a day of advancing your talent and understanding of playing in a worship band. Welcome To Our World

Congratulations to Zander and Janine Jones on the birth of their beautiful twin girls, Cadence Elina and Ava Myrisa. They were born at 2:39 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. on Friday, June 20. Cadence weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. and Ava weighed 6 lbs. ¼ oz. Mom and Dad are busy enjoying their double blessing.

GATEKEEPERS

God calls us to be good stewards of what He gives. This includes the people in our body and on our campus. Recently New Song Cool Springs launched a new safety program called Gatekeepers. Gatekeepers is a team of faithful servants charged with overseeing a safety program. Keep a watch out for Safety Team members wearing the Safety Team badge during the first service on Sunday mornings. As more Gatekeepers are harvested, the Safety Team will be expanded to second service. For more information on the Safety Team, please contact David Stephenson at stephenson2@bellsouth.net.

CALL2WORSHIP- Citywide United Time of Worship and Prayer

Our next citywide united­­ time of worship and prayer will be Sunday, June 29 @ 6 p.m. at Bethel World Outreach Center on Granny White Pike in Brentwood. Come and join worship teams from Bethel and Nashville House of Prayer as we lift up holy hands to the Lord and intercede for our city. LOCAL: Kids’ Summer Celebration is coming up at New Song Woodbine and Spring Hill. Pray for a revelation over the kids that will be participating in these Bible schools. Ask God to show them how to practically apply and walk in His power and love as He reveals Himself to them, and that the fruit from this
time would continually increase and remain in their lives.

GLOBAL: Please pray for our India Summer Team as they travel to Amritsar, India. They will be doing a number of Vacation Bible Schools and teaching children’s workers how to develop chldren’s ministry on an ongoing basis. Pray for safety, health, an ability to endure the 110 degree weather, and divine wisdom to
guide the new ministry there.
