About

History

New Song Christian Fellowship began when God called Dale and Joan Evrist to leave their home state of California after ministering there for 15 years to plant a new work in the Nashville area. In March of 1993, the first home meeting was held with a handful of people, and after six months, New Song launched its first congregation, New Song Cool Springs, which moved to its current location in October of 1995. Since then, we have launched congregations in Woodbine, Spring Hill, Murfreesboro, Hillsboro Village, and Hermitage. After almost two decades in the greater Nashville area, we are thankful for all God has done in and through us as we continue to reach out with the good news of Jesus Christ’s love and power.

Vision

We are partnering with other churches around the city to see Nashville and Middle Tennessee reached for Christ. Our part in seeing this vision become a reality is to multiply healthy New Song congregations all over Nashville – One Church, Many Congregations. We want to meet people where the people are, both physically and spiritually so that we have the gospel for every person and a church for every people/community.

Our Denomination – Foursquare

The term “foursquare” was common in the early 1900’s and referred to something or someone as being “solid” and “balanced.” It was during this time that God called Aimee Semple McPherson to preach what she called the “foursquare gospel.” Her evangelistic meetings led to a movement, which became the “International Church of the Foursquare Gospel” in December of 1927. To this day, the message remains a simple, four-point declaration of Jesus Christ as:
• Savior
• Healer
• Baptizer with the Holy Spirit
• Soon-Coming King
Today there are more than 1,900 churches in the United States, and the denomination reaches into more than 130 countries serving more than two million people worldwide.

Mission Statement

Reaching neighbors, nations & generations with the good news of Jesus Christ’s love and power.

Vision Statements

REACH UP to God through celebrative, victorious praise, intimate, passionate worship, and fervent, faith-filled prayer, that we would come to honor and know God for who He is and seek God for what He desires to do in us and through us.  (Acts 2:42–47)

REACH IN to one  another through caring and committed discipleship, so that each person at New Song will receive the nurturing and equipping they need to carry out the task of living for Christ in the world. (Acts 2:42–47; Ephesians 4:11–16; 1 Corinthians 12:24–26; 1 Peter 4:8)

REACH OUT to Christ’s body and the world through unified, interdenominational, local and world evangelization, that we would make disciples of all neighbors and nations according to Christ’s command. (Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46, 47)

REACH FORWARD to the future and the hope God has for us all, living by prophetic assignment through the vision that He reveals and the grace that He supplies, that we would see God’s glorious plan for us fulfilled completely. (Philippians 3:13; Jeremiah 29:11)
